ALLUSION
Story allusion
Zhongli Quan, later honored as Zhengyang, was a Han dynasty general from the Xianyang region. After years of war and killing, he was defeated in a northern campaign and fled alone into the mountains. A monk led him to a cave in Mount Zhongnan, where he reflected on honor, disgrace, gain, and loss. He left office, cultivated the Way, received immortal teachings from Donghua Dijun, and became one of the Eight Immortals, later revered as the founding master of the Zhengyang lineage.
